Silent Hill 2 - Remake -DX11

Post by ishiki »

Hi,

But, if you do the -dx11 silent hill will boot in DX11 (verified) with afterburner watermark.
It does crash with the unreal engine fix + GEO3D though. I will try a few things still, but if others are successful let me know.

On another note, I'll give $300 to anyone that fixes 1 of the following games.

Edit: Main Criteria is a for a single fix that is postable on a blog, it doesn't have to be perfect. Essentially whoever is the main shaderhacker.

I also feel bad as I know there are many people that have made fixes in the past (A lot who i've donated to, but not that amount). But, at that time I did not have sufficient funds, and I would also prefer to reward newer fixes that I personally want.

I also regret that I cannot fix games well, I have tried, and I have made some hacky fixes for myself. But, time investment I think is better I do projects I am good at and donate to shaderhackers :P

List

1) Silent Hill 2 - Remake - Masterotaku is working on it, so this is his...
2) Persona 5 Royal
3) Baulders Gate 3

HI Ishiki,

You are really generous with your hard earned money. Thank in behalf of helixmod community. Myself I only do workarounds, and been able to crack a few eggs successfully. However Losti won't like me touching his invention i.e. uni fix. Or modifying it. If you wish to have a private chat with me the pm me. I could give Silent Hill 2 a crack at it. Not hopeful thought. I've workaround 20 plus games, and some were very hard and took a lot of work - I too k zero cash donations from the community, only directed to shaderhackers of Helixmod. I always credited where it belonged.

That said 300 usd for me would allow me to do things I can't at the moment. So Let me know if you want me to investigate Silent Hill 2 for you with a donation. If not good luck.

I guess you don't use discord much. I've been working on a fix for almost a week. Alongside Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero. Both are my first DX11 UE5 fixes, but things are going well.

I have something half-done for this, but it's a very long game so I'll leave it for later. There are issues with autoconvergence (basically unuseable) because the HUD affects the depth buffer.

Rather wait for masterotaku's fix. Here is my take: viewtopic.php?t=160403 - photorealism doesn't work well in 3D vision, perhaps master's fix will be better. Good Luck.

Depending on your 3D display/GPU/drivers, you can also give Silent Hill 2 a try with UEVR + VRto3D for DX12 mode with ray-tracing etc. Chtiblue reported it working well on his 3DTV. However, it won't have auto-convergence like the fix that masterotaku is working on.

Really? How do you dare to ask 300$ when you know you don't know how to fix anything in 3D, just providing in the best case a workaround to make it launch via Dx9 path but still with 3D issues?...

UE5 base, this game needs to be fixed to lokk great in 3D with Geo 11 in Dx11.

Indeed it works perfect with UEVRto3D with 2 convergence (UI is pretty minimalist in this game) presets, so Ishiki if you're not stuck with 3Dvisison hardware you can enjoy it with UEVRto3D with RT (or not if you don't have a powerfull GPU) in DX12.
If you're stuck with 3Dvision then wait for Masterotaku fix :)

You always 100% attacking me for years. Listen up, I didn't ask for 300 usd -the bounty was given and I said I'd dedicate my precious time to make it uni fix workable as he couldn't, now screw off pls.

Hi thank you for this, I do most things in interlaced mode on TV with 4080 super.

Still I will wait for masterotaku, as I like his fixes best :P, and can edit other things. But I'm figuring out VRto3D for Cyberpunk,

Persona 5 Royal
Setting HUD shortcut keys can enable automatic convergence to take effect.

I had to remove the uni fix workaround - sorry but Losti lurks around the forum to see if his script founded in helixmod is being used.

I hope it worked for u, let me know if it did. For me the 3D was active and only AA was not active so it looks ok. I wish I could help u more.

I know, but that defeats the purpose of it being automatic. And you wouldn't be able to see the HUD at all times. If I can, I'll just do static presets for gameplay vs cutscenes.

About Silent Hill 2, I was finally able to fix the fog yesterday, which is important for this game. I can finally start playing the game for real.

Good news, I see masterotaku fixing Silent Hill 2 most nights and he said it’s looking good, so stay tuned and money to donate for his hard work. Without Harisuckro this fix with be more delayed as the game is very long.
