Not sure if in Geforce Forum there was a list in the past.

But there's a way to look if Nvidia added CM support for games.

For doing so start Nvidia Profile inspector and export all Nvidia driver profile as a text file. Then open the .txt file and press CTRL + F. Type in: 0x709adada. Roughly 102 games will be found which support CM. Of course there are much more games capable of CM but Nvidia never tested. We have to try on our own by setting 0x709adada value - either manually or with helifax's CMU and my 3DFM.

As almost all Dx11 games should be working with CM mode and Helifax unleashed CM mode, a list with the few DX11 games which don't work in CM mode would be much simple ;)

Ok, I have seen some games in the profile text supporting CM using the 0x709adada search. For example I have installed Dark Souls III and I can play perfectly using CM and change convergence. But the idea of using CM is to see if Bannerlord can be played this way, and no luck. I use Assassins Creed III profile with Bannerlord and I can not change convergece (only depht). I use any other compatible CM profile with Bannerlord, and the result is the same, convergence keys do nothing.
Maybe Bannerlord plays with other rules, or maybe I am missing something. I am interested in CM in this game because, even if there is any future 3dfix, this game demands high framerates to play properly online.

I am in Windows 7 64bits and the last drivers (updated with 3DFix Manager). Every game I have tested is working normally.

Which games?
AC Unity or Syndicate are good CM profiles, Far Cry Primal too...
Did you try with Helifax's CM unleashed mod, it has an automatic CM profile?

I have tried using two different ways:
- 3dfix Manager "Enable CMU"
- http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2014/08/gu ... 3d-to.html

The first uses the Helifax CM unleashed mod, and the second just is a way to play using a compatible game instead. The results are hte samne no matter what way I use.

I have tried these games:

- F1 2018: this is the only game that I manage to play propoerly in CM mode (I use Assassins Creed III profile)
- Fifa 09: this game only shows 1 picture.
- Assetto Corsa Competizione: this game only shows 1 picture.
- Trine 4: this game only shows 1 picture.
- This war of mine: CM does not kick in.
- Total War three kingdoms: I get 2 pictures, but convergence does not work (flat result).
- Mount & Blade Bannerlord: I get 2 pictures, but convergence does not work (flat result).
- Dirt Rally 2: I get 2 pictures, but convergence does not work (flat result).

Sorry that's all games I don't play and don't have ;)
Except I have Trine4 but i don't see why play it in CM mode as DJ-RK made a perfect fix ;)

Definitely not normal that you can't change convergence in CM. Are convergence keys unlocked in Nvidia Control Panel?

In CM mode it can take a while until you see convergence changing. Just press and hold the "increase convergence" hotkey a few seconds.

Do you play on TV / monitor / projector? 3D Vision / 3DTV Play, Optimized for Geforce etc..??
I ask because maybe it's an issue related to exotic setups like passive LG OLED 4K TV...

I have no problem with F1 2018, and convergence keys works fine. I can also use CM perfectly and modify convergence with any Nvidia CM supported game installed in my computer (Dark souls 3, The witcher 3, Assassins creed syndicate, Lords of the fallen).

Ok, I think it is better to play with normal fixes even if it stutters because performance. Visual quality is much better.
I have a lot of old games to play smooth using 3D. Now I am replaying Dark Souls 3.

I just tried Just Cause 3, enabled CMU and didn't install any 3d fix. It worked exactly as I'd expect, depth and convergence were adjustable and 3d effect was good.
Tried Dirt 2 and same CMU logo and text appeared but I have another issue with the game so test failed. In both cases, the correct overlay appears and when I alt-tabbed I could see the CMU window running in the background.

I'm not sure if there's even a problem here?

*edit* "This war of mine: CM does not kick in." went to test this but appears to be DX9.
*edit2* Just tried dead rising 4. 3d effect was ok but I was struggling to adjust convergence. Not saying I was doing it right, just providing info.

It is a pity Nvidia did not develop more this CM thing. What bothers me more is the halo aroung things. I have no idea, but it would be nice to have the possibility to tweak different parameters of an specific profile, instead of just using the profile of another game (usually Assassins Creed 3). Different CM profiles behave differently with the same game, and that means that there are more parameters besides depth and convergence.
Maybe understanding and tweaking those parameters would be a way to fix the most bothering problems of CM.

Do you have a second display connected? If so you might migrate to W10 2004, it improves stutter/performance when multiple monitors are connected.

You might also try Helifax's guide for reducing stutter

You know that even with tweaks you'll never get rid of the halo. It's because you're not fully rending 2 viewpoints, it just uses the z-buffer to 'guess' an offset for each eye based on one set of geometry. It has to fill in the blanks, which is what creates the halo effect, particularly where convergence is high near the screen. And you won't really get pop-out either, for the same reason.

That's why proper geometry based (3d vision) never has a halo, but is significantly slower, plus hits CPU bottlenecks.

A couple of years ago I could probably have explained it better but it seems like I'm starting to forget in my old age lol.

Superdepth3d is a better solution than compatibility mode, but unfortunately it doesn't support native 3d vision displays unless something has changed.

I would say Superdepth3D is equivalent as 3D Compatibility Mode Unleashed by Helifax 8)

I don't know if there is any difference between "Compatibility Mode Unleashed by Helifax" vs using CM mode just changing the game profile (assassins creed 3 for example).

I do not have too much experience with CM, and I thought it is the same, with the differnce that CMU Helifax uses a wrapper (or something like that) and mantain the specifec Nvidia profile untouched. It seems that using this "wrapper" makes impossible to play multiplayer games because of the cheat detection.

I have started my short experience using CM mode playing "M&B 2 Bannerlord", just changing the game profile (so without using any wrapper), and I can play multiplayer without being banned.

Maybe the CMU Helifax method has more options to tweak and make the final 3D experience better, I don't know. Anyway, it seems to be more complex to use than just change the profile, and I'm not sure but I remember to read something about this method is outdated.

Of course, specific 3d fixes are the best option to play a game, but the frame drop is so big that sometimes it is just impossible to play decently. My system is Xeon X5670 (6+6 cores) at 4 Ghz (yes, veeeery old) + RTX 2080. Without 3D, my CPU still can respond to play 2D games, and I can raise details and resolution to balance GPU and CPU. But when playing 3D I usually have CPU bottleneck (even with the stress that suffer the GPU because the double renderering). And for those games there is no solution to get decent frames, because I get nothing reducing resolution, it is a CPU problem and nothing can be done. So for those games CM is the option to play 3D.

One main and huge difference is that Helifax unlocked the Depth which is really low in nvidia CM mode. With Unleashed CM mode you can have the huge depth you want and it's game's changer.

The 2nd diff is with Helifax Unleashed mode you can have presets with differents depth and convergence for 3rd person, 1st person or in car driving for example.

Just try it ;)

There is a MAJOR difference between CMU and SuperDepth3D if you are using 3D Vision:
- CMU renders FULL WIDTH, HEIGHT frames (as it's using 3D Vision).
- SuperDepth3D renders either HALF Width (SBS) or half Height(Top-Under) modes.

With proper tweaking and following the guides in the "3DVision_CM_Unleased.ini" on how to tweak the values for the profile you will ALWAYS get better results than SuperDepth3D!
Also, like Chtiblue said: you can create a profile PER game (and once set you don't need to care) and provides the ability to quickly swap between depth & convergence presets (something that SuperDepth3D/Reshade is unable to do).
The downside is that you need to "fiddle" a bit more and find what works for "the game" that you are trying to play! (This is not the problem of CMU, but how 3D Vision Compatibility Mode works)!

Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Helifax

CM in the last year or so has become pretty erratic in it's results as I have bought up here before. It's getting really difficult to find a profile that works for many games. Warframe stopped working with an update, and many games will now just push the 2d image to depth regardless of settings. I have not found a good solution to this yet. Occasionally you will get success with a game such as Destiny 2 with the Assasins creed Black flag profile *if I remmeber right*

I think this is a driver issue. Try using an older driver.
