How turn 3DVision at 1920x1080x120Hz?
Where I can find EDID file from UHD-40 for patching HD27HDR ?

I don't have either of those projectors, but, you could try this file which I downloaded from the old forums some time ago.
There have been so many EDID files floating around that I genuinely don't know the context of this one though.

In principle, I think Paul Dusler created the original UHD40 EDID and he pretty much removed most of the modes apart from 1920x1080x120Hz. But don't quote me on that!

You should be able to create your own with ToastyX's Custom Resolution Utility (CRU). 3D vision uses the name of the display (in the top field of CRU) to identify if it's a known supported display or not.

*edit* added a list of hardware. It wil be out of date and someone else did it, not me, but this is as good a place for it as any.

Thanks for posting and also confirming that the new UHD30 works. I believe the UHD30 is the EU version of the UHD50X, which supports 240hz input!

IF you have time, tt would be really interestring if you could try and create a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel of 1920x1080x240Hz and see if it works.

On the thread over at AVSFORUMS (https://www.avsforum.com/forum/68-digit ... tor-4.html) Mark Rejhon @ Blurbusters was really keen to get more information on how that mode looks as well.

HD-27HDR, HD-39HDR and GT1080HDR - all this Optoma models can do not only 3D in 1080р/24 Hz for movies, but also 3D in 1080р/120 Hz for gaming on PC!
Optoma UHD-40 - native 3D in 1080p/120Hz (Frame Sequental).
Other - via EDID override in "Monitor" section in Windows (native driver replacing with monitor driver from Optoma UHD-40).
I had all this PJs and confirm this...

Thanks for confirming. It does seem that Optoma support 1080p frame sequential most of the time.
Of course from that list only the UHD-40 is 4k. Also it's still not 100% confirmed that 1080p frame sequential works after the BIOS update that added other hdmi bluray modes.
Unfortunately my BenQ TK800 cannot be made to work. I've considered buying something like a HD39-HDR as well just for 3d vision...

Short Throw GT1080HDR give bigger screen. I play at 210" painted wall (sitting from 2 meters distance). With HD39HDR was 170" only.
Between screen and pj - 4,5 meters in my room.

Yes, my current PJ is relatively long throw, so I might actually be able get away with stacking projectors but with one much closer to the screen than the other.
It's a good reminder about throw distances though, I sometimes see threads on avsforums where people buy a projector but haven't calculated (or didn't know) how it works.
I'm on a 110" screen at the moment, it's just an elitescreens electric with maxwhite material, which I think is 1.1 gain.
Because it's standard screen and not high gain or ALR, I think I could fit a short throw in somewhere maybe.

Update. New Optoma laser UHZ-406 pj can work with 3DVision at 1920x1080x120Hz Frame Sequental too... With USB pyramyd only!

Thank you! More options.. Looks like most (if not all) of the modern 3d Optoma's work.
I see they have dropped the Vesa 3d sync port from the new models though, which means no RF glasses, although the emitters and RF glasses seem to be getting rarer and more expensive anyway.

-deleted- I was going to get the uhd50x, and had some questions, but I have more research to do first.

Initially that was the case, because they released their first projectors as 2D only. But after customer outcry, they released a firmware update to support 3D.

Now, on some of the recent releases, they have re-included the 3D sync Vesa port.

The UHD 50X does not have one.

The GT1090HDR that I'm looking at, is said to have one. (new 1080P short throw laser model)

So 1090HDR is plug and play 3d vision compatible?
I'm looking for a projector for ps5 4k gaming as well as 3d vision gaming.
I would prefer a true 4k projector that also gives 1080p 3d vision gaming.

Where I ended up -

First, Thank You Pauldusler for your Post on the UHD40, and the EDID's, along with your 3DFM Tool!
Thank You RS422 and russellk for your various posts and information!

- DLP Glasses - None of the glasses in Paulduslers UHD40 post in NVidia were available to me, so I ordered some "Ultimate 3D Heaven DLP Link 3D Glasses" from Amazon.

- Was going to try the UHD50X, but got paranoid after seeing issues on AVS/reddit re: Split Screen and Firmware updates

- Decided to try GT1090HDR laser
Plug n Play gave me 3dtv and Checkerboard no problem. DLP Glasses worked fine with test screen and games in 3dtv play
Tried 3D Sync with Nvidia Glasses, timing off/sync with NV glasses/pyramid - did not work

Tried both UHD 40 EDID's (with and without DSR) with CRU.
NV Glasses with 3D Sync/DLP Link/On/Off etc and fiddling with every other setting I could think of (or had a menu options to change!), did not work. Sync'ing of glasses was off. I tried with/without wire from PJ to Pyramid.
DLP Glasses would give a good ghost free image, but no matter what I did, the colors in the NV test screen would flow through the colors of the rainbow.

I fiddled with everything imaginable, for days, and gave up and returned it to Amazon. Someone smarter than me on this might get it to work, but not me, and wasn't about to fiddle with glasses timing.

- Got the GT1080HDR - great Amazon price.
As mentioned previously in this post (RS422), it works with the UHD40 EDIDs just fine with DLP Glasses above. Tried with Mad Max w/fix, fantastic. Frame Sequential.

Tried all above with 1809/425.31 and 20H2/452.06 w/3DFM

That is all the testing I could do, and appreciate all of the previous posts on this topic. Packed the PJ up and put in storage, till it comes back out in several+... months (office done).

For the Screen, a couple years ago, I had a 120" "Silver Ticket Products" white screen, forget the gain. Wall mount, black velvet border. I loved it. So, went back for another, larger one. Got the 165" White, 1.4 Gain. I can't put that together, yet, but I ordered anyway as it was 2/3 off on the price and their inventory is getting low. For some reason they are having a fire sale.

My 1 question, if you do decide to do sbs/tb, do you do with defualt EDID (checkerboard) or with UHD40 EDID Frame Sequential? I'll fiddle later, but was just curious. edit - better put - use the PJ in Generic CRT Mode or Checkerboard? I'd fiddle again, but it's back in the box :-(

Again, thank you all for what you posted here and back in NV.

With Optoma GT1090HDR it is necessary to turn "Frame Sequential" in pj 3D options, NOT "Auto". In my Optoma laser UHZ-406 was color issues (yellow) in "Auto" mode. I did not test GT1090HDR laser, but I think this is a bug of all laser models when EDID activated.
