How to easily adjust eyedifferences on iZ3D monitor

Post by sharky »

Hi!

IMPORTANTO NOTICE: THIS MINITUTORIAL IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE 17" IZ3D MONITOR! YOU DO EVERYTHING AT YOUR OWN RISK! iZ3D COMPANY HAS NO RELATION TO THIS POST AND I DO NOT WORK FOR iZ3D. THIS POST IS bASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCE! FEEL FREE TO ADD YOUR OPPINION TO THE THREAD!

here is a small tutorial on how to adjust the differences on iz3D monitors. in the forum and in the iz3d forum has been spoken a lot about this iz3D issue but fortunately its easy to solve. Nathansteinke asked to make a tutorial with images, but thats not good for me because my windows and drivers are italian.. but its pretty easy so it can be done also without images.

This is specially for NVIDIA cards but it can be done with ATI cards too.. maybe somebody with an ati can post the ati version of the tutorial.

so lets start:

1) open up iz3D player (IMPORTANT HAS TO BE AT LEAST V 1.01!!!!) and load a stereoimage (jps) into it. Keep it windowed and in a place where you can see it.

2) go to the desktop properties, the tap for the resolution. click on the monitor you use as FRONT monitor (usually monitor 2). if you did not change the monitor's location then the monitor you have to select is the one at the right. select it and you see a gray line around it.

3) select "advanced" and go to the tab of your graphics card. (for example "GeForce 8800 GTS" and click on additional properties.

4) go to the "color correction" tab in the menu and change "brightness" and "contrast" untill the two eyes on the stereo image match! you should avoid to change the gamma if possible. its easier to see if they match by rapidly open and close the eyes alternating them. the settings should be a bit different for all because our eyes don't see exactly the same colors. some guys notice this more some less.

thats it..

bye

Thank you, Sharky.

I have some more questions...
When you say IZ3D stereo viewer, what do you mean?
IZ3D driver?
IZ3D media player?
neither of the above?
If neither, where do you get the iz3d stereo viewer?

How do you keep it in windowed mode once you pull it up?

I have uninstalled my nvidia stereodriver since I got the new monitor.

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

hi nate!

by iz3d stereo viewer i mean the iz3d media player classic. you can download it at www.iz3d.com. please eb shure to have the last version else it won't work. the mediaplayer can play JPS files too.

windowed? simply don't put it fullscreen. iz3D drivers work in windowed mode too. if you have the jps fullscreen, simply doubbleclick on th eclip and it is windowed.

its ok if you have uninstalled them.. the same configurationpannel is on th enew control pannel too.. just don'T know where.. please do NOT change the settings of the back monitor! if you change them the effect will be worst...

bye

When I go to "File --> Open" in Iz3d media player classic, it says "cannot render file"
I took a pns file, renamed it to .jps and am having this problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi Sharky,

Could you please attach a jps file that works for you to open?
Do you do "Quick Open"

Or "File-->Open File"?
When I do that, it says "Type the address of a move or audio file..."

I specify the .jps file on the "Open" line.
I leave the "Dub" line blank.

Do you specify anything for the "Dub" file to open?
Am I in the right place?

Under
"File-->Stereo Format", what do you specify?
Side by Side?
Thanks!

Hi Sharky,

I renamed the .jps to .jpg and it still says that it cannot render the file.
Any further ideas?
Thanks.

ehm.. reading through it again this punched my eye... why png? where have you taken the image? jps files are normal jpg files renamed to jps. try to use this one:

let me know if it works!

to uplaod images go to www.imageshack.us upload the image and then link the uploaded image here...
