Hi, I need to buy a video card for S3D gaming using a passive 3D setup. Will this card work with Nvidia Stereo Drivers?

I don't know all about this but: The GX2 series are internally SLI'ed and SLI so far won't work with Nvidia stereo drivers. Can change in the future though. Maybe you can run the card with one graph unit for stereo but in that case a simple 7900 (Maybe 7950) will do just as well in stereo. Google well to save trouble... (I bought an 8800GTX.... lol)

cheers

*bump*
I really can't find any information if the nVidia drivers will work with that card in Stereo3D. Since I think about buying it, it would be nice to get some further info...

From a review:
Overall there were only a few minor quibbles in the time I spent with the card.
Enabling SLI requires a reboot with the only set of drivers that work on this card. NVIDIA is aware of the problem and is trying to sort it out.

I think it works as a single card and you have to enable sli just like when you have 2 cards. It is after all 2 cards connected to each other. The only difference is it is using only one pci-express slot but takes up 2 slots. As far as I know sli does not work with the nvidia drivers, but you can probably use it as a single card (no sli enabled). That would be a waste of money though. The only card I know of that is sli (crossfire in this case) but is treated as a real single card is the ati radeon 3870X2.

I would just get a 7900 GTX, it's not that much slower - from reviews it seems to be 5-10 fps behind on average, but it works 100%. May be a different story with stereo on, the 7900GTX I use drops about 70% of it's frame rate when stereo is turned on. Maybe the gx2 does better, but if it doesn't work, why bother.

sorry for posting that late.
i use a 7950gx2 since 1,5 years now and stereo IS working (shutter glasses, 19' crt with fresnel-lense). still there is a lot of performancedrop in frames when stereo is enabled. best driver-combo in my view is 93.71. newer forceware above 160.xx causes trouble with cod4 an crysis.

ps. sorry for my bad english

I got a 8800GT and has to change it cause i can't get it working.
