Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
Nathan Steinke said this looked great in S-3D.
Nate, any tips on how to set up S-3D? I have tried my best,
including enabling V-Sync, turning off shadows, lowering the
screen resolution, KindDragon's utility and the best I can do
is good (okay, spectacular) S-3D if looking at the floor or the
ceiling. But horrible flicker otherwise.
Any suggestions?
TIA

are you using shutterglasses? are you testing the demo?
if you have a lot of flickering you should increase the freqeuncy. go to the stereosettings and try to increase the frequency for your particular screensize and resolution. 80 Hz is the minimum you should have for playing.. 120 is ideal.
tell us about the results..

deisama, that was my problem (also with Bioshock), thanks for the tip.
Default settings (normal, with V-Sync OFF) look really stunning in S-3D.
Jahun, no issues that I can see. No HUD which is actually a bit of a
problem in terms of adjusting convergence. By default subtitles are ON,
you can use them to adjust convergence (F5/F6). Now that I've turned
them off, I have to walk up to a door so that I can see a hand over the
doorknob. Then I use the doorknob (not the hand, which is not stereo)
to adjust the convergence.
It's actually a great game for S-3D (at least so far) because you actually
have to walk around looking at stuff, so it's kind of perfect for Stereo 3D.
If you wanted to show someone what 3D's all about, the intro to this
game would be hard to beat (as Nate said earlier). Beautiful graphics,
stunningly rendered.
--- My $.02

>>The flickering is caused by Vsync being on, so just set it to "Off" in the "performance and quality settings" of the nvidia control panel, and it'll run great
It's strange... when I turn vsync off in the in-game settings, it continues to flicker.
But, changing it in the "performance and quality settings" to off, I do not see any flicker!!
I hope this will solve the flicker problem I've seen in other games, like Tomb Raider Anniversary.
I've been trying to figure this problem out for over a year now, this just might be the cure. Thank you.

Hi Nate, I tried your discovery with FlatOut2 - where I had a lot of flicker after using new glasses - and the change removed it completly. Thanks to you I can play this game in 3D again
