Misadventres in 3d - S-3d trailer

I tried to run one with Stereoscopic player, but had wrong codecs (.mpg) . It wouldn't even start.
With windows Mediaplayer the movie showed interlaced pictures.
How do I play those?
Do I need another player or just codecs?

first of all you need these S3d compatible codecs, installed and set as defoult for dvds.

you have to have the correct codecs installed so if you have K-Lite odeck pack installed you have to uninstall it. and then install it again WITHOUT all the mpg codecs! the codes you download above have to REPLACE the k-lite codecs.

there are also tools around wich can delete single codecs. this problems affect all S3D MPG files.

ok i found a much easyer way to make this work.

install k-lite codec pack (google is your friend)

go to start->programs>k-lite codec pack>configuration>ffdshow video decoder

select the mpeg1 format and in the second column select "libmpeg2"

select the mpeg2 format and in the second column select "libavcodec"

Great! Have some thoughts of getting some 3D-movies too. Unfortunately there aren't too many of them yet.

they are getting more and more.... imax ones are really good.. but short.. you can also find man free ones on the web.. if you see some just create a new thread and link it... or write your oppinion in the "general talk about movies and simulators" section!

Honestly I didn't remove any codecs before installing your linked .msi file (I had K-codecs installed already)

But it worked flawlessly, anyway

I don't know if any trash is still on the plate.
The newer file could have replaced the old ones

I've installed K-codecs and the .msi file.
So I start Stereoscopic Player but no 3D.
What settings do You use in Stereoscopic Player?

The .mpg files on http://www.really.ru/eng/dload.php?acti ... y&cat_id=4
are all running in interlaced format (at least the 2-3 I checked out) with right picture in the first line.
I did change the ending of the file to .stereo, so it gets opened with stereoscopic player automatically, but appart from that I didn't change anything...

Maybe you'll have to switch 'on' stereo in the player? Yes it can play things in normal mode...
Or it might be helpfull to switch the direction in the player...

the trick to the misadventures in 3d trailer is for it to play in its original size. used to be able to view it on my old pc but here no matter how much I scale it, open with different players the image is always doubled...
