Lost Planet (DX9 version) (better as farcry)

Post by scarab »

You have to try the new Lost planet demo!!! It look much better than farcry!

to play it you need Dragon 3D Stereo Utility and you have to set HDR and Motion Blur to low but this Motion Blur is awesome.

My 6600GT is to slow to play it :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

The graphics are nice yes. But using convergance makes the HUD disappear and it's very buggy when stereo is enabled. (This is on a pc with a 6600GT as well btw, I'm not at the PC from my sig)

Hm I'm not shure about the graphics compared to FarCry, but it won't run. Your screens had no Laser sight and I couldn't get it either. At the sides of my monitors appear black bars, which get off, if I use a special mix of convergence and Seperation.

But the most striking point is the performance... it runs very bad on my rig, even with all setting minimized (resolution 800:600). It keeps showing this performance is too low (below 10FPS or so) thing, which interrupts gameplay...

Do you have any Idea to improve 3D performance?

The black bars you might be able to get removed by using ctrl+F11 (cycle frustrum adjustment) on newest drivers anyway. (However this function was already in very old drivers according to some PDF, so I suppose only the ability to change hotkey was added in new stereo drivers)

I haven't test this game yet, but usually black bars on the side are a symptom of post processing effects.

Try turning off all items that include: HDR, Bloom, and "Enhanced Lighting".

You can also try reducing "shaders" a notch or two to see if that makes a difference (last resort)!

The game runs very slow at 3d but it also runs slow at 2d.
maybe this is because the game was developed for DX10 but its good that a lot of post processing effects are working (like HDR and Motion Blur).
The game is not released yet and i think it will run better if DX10,SLI and 8xxx drivers are out.
