Geo-11 Kingdom Come Deliverance

Post by BigErn77 »

I installed the helixmod fix through 3DFM and then I installed geo-11. When trying to launch the game it crashes and I get an error window with "DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR". It's actually the same error I get when I run this game with 3D Vision enabled but without the 3dmigoto fix. Somehow, installing geo-11 breaks that fix. It looks to me like the related to the dlls from geo-11, but I'm not sure.

-Steam version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance
-Windows 10 21H2
-Geforce 1080ti, Nvidia Driver 452.06
-3D Vision driver installed via 3DFM

To avoid confusion, you should refer to the dx11 wrapper as 3DMigoto.
https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases

Of course you may have meant to say HelixBlog fix?
Thanks for that clarification. I meant to say 3DMigoto.

Ok, so I managed to avoid that DXGI error by globally enabling the Schwing driver hack (NV-DRIVER-HACK) in 3DFM, which allows me to launch games from Steam instead of 3DFM not worrying about 3dmigoto fixes being undone. Now when I launch the game, it doesn't start but just crashes. Nothing even comes up on the screen, it just fails to launch. If I change to nvidia_dx9, I get the same result. Anyone else try this game?

I solved the crash on launch by renaming dxgi.dll to dxgi.dll.disabled. That dll had gotten placed in this folder by the performance script found on the Helixmod blog page, and is part of reshade (I think).

With that disabled, I was able to successfully run the game with geo-11. The overlay was present, and the stereoscopy looked perfect for the few minutes I played.

Brilliant! How is the performance? Originally, it was atrocious...

I got the EPIC store version running by just using the basic Losti fix as provided by 3DFM. Running is SBS mode on 511.65. Looks and runs great. Pretty much solid 60fps (with very few exceptions)

@1440p - no geo-11 = 33fps , with geo-11 33fps
@1080p - no geo-11 = 35fps , with geo-11 54fps

At 1440p, my GPU load is 100%, so that's why there's no improvement.
At 1080p, my GPU load is around 95%, so there was some performance to unlock there. And 35fps to 54fps is a huge jump (~54%)

I'm using a GTX1080ti so I'm easily GPU limited in games at 1440p. Later generations of graphics cards can expect to see a bigger performance jump at 1440p or higher resolutions.

(See sig for system specs)
