Does '3D Fix Manager' support 'RTX 2060 12GB' and 'RTX 2060 SUPER' (December 2021 release)?

Post by rudpsk »

Hi!
I planned to buy a new video card of the 20th series, which you can still have time to buy in the store. To date, in stores you can buy only 2 models: '2060 12 GB' and '2060 Super', which appeared in December 2021. These models have a DVI port - it made me very happy, because it was this port that I need to view the 'NVIDIA 3D Vision' on the ASUS VG278HR monitor. I was going to click on the 'Buy' button in the online store, but I was stopped by the idea that these video cards were released recently, and therefore there is a possibility that the driver v.452.06 from '3D Fix Manager' will not be able to find out these new video cards and will not be installed.

I decided to check this information on the Internet and saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPI_dUZIozY and in the comments I saw bad news :( :
Comment (3 months ago): Can anyone tell me why if I have a 12gb rtx 2060 when I apply driver 452.06 from 3D Fix Manager it tells me "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I don't understand if the 20 series is supposed to work with this controller. I've tried 14 drivers lower than this and they all tell me the same thing.

Answer (2 months ago): I think because the 12GB version is released in December 2021, and the latest driver which works is October 2020. So it can't include it.

After that I spent a lot of time on the Internet, I read information about the latest updates to '3D Fix Manager', but I did not see that '3D Fix Manager' added support for 'RTX 2060 12GB' and 'RTX 2060 SUPER' (Dec 2021 release).

So I want to ask: :?: for these graphics cards, is it really not possible to install the 'NVIDIA 3D VISION' driver using '3D Fix Manager' right now? :?: If not, is there a chance that support for these graphics cards will be added for the '3D Fix Manager'?
Please answer! For me and many other people who want to buy the remains of 20-series graphics cards, this is very important to know.

Not all existing fixes work perfectly with the new stereoizer, so some will need retouched. So buy a RTX 3XXX.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about that. I now carefully read everything that is written in the first link. And I correctly understood that this is only for games? But I use NVIDIA 3D VISION not only for games. I use NVIDIA 3D VISION also to watch 3D movies + I very often watch videos in pseudostereo (2D --> 3D) and it looks great.

So it would be very nice if the '3D Fix Manager' just added these last two video cards to be a COMPLETE set. Because these are the latest video cards in the 20th series and there will be no more new models. Since 'RTX 2060 6GB' is supported in '3D Fix Manager', I guess it will be easy to add support for a similar graphics card but only with 12GB memory. The same with the second card (RTX 2060 SUPER).

I also saw the following item in the geo-11 instructions:
Technical details and use:

For best results and simplest startup, install driver 452.06, and install the 3D Vision Driver if you use that hardware for 3D. Simplest way to do that is via 3DFM/HelixVision. geo-11 works with later drivers, but you will still need the 3D Vision Driver installed for 3D Vision hardware. Start with this known good, working, setup, and only add complexities like later drivers once you have it working.
There is a logical question: how can I install driver 452.06 (with support for '3D Vision Driver') for a video card if this driver does not support this video card??? If the video card has support in '3D Fix Manager', then the driver can be installed using it. But if this support is not there, then it cannot be installed? Right?

I assume you are talking about Blue-ray discs. Files might be playable somehow. Dunno
Actually movies, including Blu-ray 3D, mostly work on newer drivers. I tested it with PowerDVD 18. Everything works fine on 452.06 and any older drivers. If you use newer drivers (>452.xx), it completely stops working on Windows 7, just always shows 2D picture in 3D mode. But things are better on Windows 11. It still only plays as 2D when the player is in the windowed mode, but after you switch it to full screen and wait for the controls to hide, it finally starts playing in 3D. No need for geo-11 or anything else for videos, just install the standard driver and 3D Vision driver with the file version changed in 2 .dll files (if you use 3D Fix Manager, it does it for you).

You could also use older PS or XBOX (like PS4) console to play 3D movies - note latest console versions discontinued 3D Blu-ray support.
Dual boot VR/3D Vision disk partitioning (multiple SSDs). 3D Vision - Windows 10 v1809, 425.31 driver, 32 GB, i9-9900X@4.5 GHz, hybrid-cooled 2080Ti, 4K LG E6 OLED TV with EDID. VR/geo-11 - 3080Ti with Vive Pro 2, also have Aero, wireless lens-modified Vive Pro, Index, Reverb G2, Pimax 8K.
