Works nearly perfect with dx11 output, some shadows and AO are wrong. Performance in crowded Areas and Camps has doubled :woot

Same results here - will be kick ass when fix is tweaked for geo11. Glad I waited playing the game :)

After some TextureOverride tweaks and geo-11 configuration, I think I have fixed all graphics problems compared to 3D Vision. But wait a bit more, because I want to test more output resolutions and other things.
At the latest, I think it will be ready tomorrow.

Done! With autoconvergence (which works really really well in this game), and some more fixed issues. I left DX11 mode and upscaling enabled by default, which is what works for me.

@masterotaku - the geo-11 update works great with my 3080Ti. Days Gone in-game fps counter in settings tab was very useful in identifying a GPU driver/EVGA Precision X1 problem I had. 3DMigoto version with 2080Ti has 40 fps average (in-game counter for test scene), while geo-11 version with 3080Ti has solid 60 fps average (frame rate limit of my 3DTV). I am looking forward to playing this version when I finish God of War. For some unknown reason, I could not complete one specific area to reach the next save point without the 3DMigoto version randomly crashing.
Dual boot VR/3D Vision disk partitioning (multiple SSDs). 3D Vision - Windows 10 v1809, 425.31 driver, 32 GB, i9-9900X@4.5 GHz, hybrid-cooled 2080Ti, 4K LG E6 OLED TV with EDID. VR/geo-11 - 3080Ti with Vive Pro 2, also have Aero, wireless lens-modified Vive Pro, Index, Reverb G2, Pimax 8K.

Sorry masterotaku, I meant to report as soon as I tried your new Geo-11 fix.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't leave the game until the rain came. Now that I was finally able to experience it, here I am, all wet (because of the immersiveness of it in real 3D ;) ).
Oh, I had to also search for a river (lake) to admire its depth. (again, only possible because of Geo-11 and your magic).

Thank you so much to you and all people responsible, for giving us back these simple joys. You are all amazing!

Been away for 10 days and just learned about the geo-11 configuration. All of you did amazing work - on a 1660 Super at 720p (3DTV) this game is running fluidly unlike before when it was slightly and noticeably sluggish at the graphics settings I had.

Long live 3D.

@masterotaku - hello. The fix works for me, amazing performance. Thanks to geo-11 very smooth gameplay. I would like to use auto-convergence, but the value of 150 is too high for me. Where can I reduce this value. For example I set dm_convergence = 90.0 in d3dxdm.ini, but still in game convergence shows 150.

When "dm_autoconvergence" is set to 1, the "dm_convergence" setting does nothing. If you want to reduce convergence in general, you should edit these two to make them lower:

dm_max_convergence_soft = 1.1
dm_max_convergence_hard = 2.0

Especially the first one. Keep in mind they aren't about absolute convergence numbers. If you set "dm_max_convergence_soft = 0.9", or lower, I think you'll notice the difference.

Thanks, I used your instructions and after reducing these values the convergence is as good as I want.

is autodepth for pistol crosshair broken ? other weapon crosshairs have autodepth separately from hud depth
or was it like that in the original fix?

Is it during the prologue, as I already mentioned in the blog post as a known issue?:

Weird, it should have been over a long time ago, I think. Post your save file here. I don't think I missed the crosshair you use, but let's check.

For me its perfect, encountered not a single Issue in my 3rd playthrough...Oh, wait: Yeah, the 2080ti is on 99 % workload nearly all the Time, so 45Fps is the lowest Framerate ive seen (in the 2nd Island Base...) Fck amazing, thanks to all involved!

Just FYI for anyone - disabling fullscreen optimizations actually caused my stereoscopic 3D to look all messed up. I had to uncheck that in the compatibility options of the DaysGone.exe. (It's unchecked by default).

Not much time lately to try the exciting Geo11 driver, but I did take a quick look at this game. Performance is great, but did not go to a town yet as I cannot fast travel due to a bug I've encountered: as soon as I open the map, all textures become black so I cannot see anything on screen anymore apart from the HUD.
I tried DX11 and TAB (DX9 crashes the game, and interlaced just triggers TAB) and they all have this bug.
Anyone else came across this behavior? Any suggestions on what I could try to further troubleshoot?

EDIT
No longer happens after I moved away from that spot and into a camp. Maybe something got corrupted in the shaders or maybe the bug only appears in a specific part of the map. I'll update here if I find the issue again later when I get back to playing this game.
Thank you Masterotaku for the updated fix!

Days Gone does not work with nvidia_dx9 and the latest 500 series nvidia driver + RTX 3080. It can't start and just crashes back to the desktop.

1) I DDU'ed my drivers in safe mode
2) installed latest nVidia driver (516.59)
3) installed 3DVision driver through 3DFM
4) as a test, I ran Witcher 3 successfully in geo-11 nvidia_dx9 mode, with 3DVision stereo working fine
5) started Days Gone once to set display to fullscreen in the options
6) copied the geo-11 fix from Days Gone's helixmod blog page to the Win64 folder of Days Gone
7) changed nvidia_dx11 to nvidia_dx9 in d3dxdm.ini
8) started the game

I have tried using the latest geo-11 driver instead of the files found at Days Gone's helixmod page, but it didn't change the result.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Has anyone actually ever successfully run this game with nvidia_dx9? I just bought this RTX 3080 and I hope not to have to return it and buy a 2080, just to be able to play this game.

In the past we have had intermittent problems with Steam's overlay crashing some games and/or other 3rd party overlays, such as MSI Afterburner
I tried disabling every known overlay, and also closing background apps including MSI Afterburner. The game unfortunately still crashes on startup. For a half second I see a black screen with the geo-11 overlay, and then it crashes back to the desktop with the Days Gone crash reporter window.

About almost half the games I tried didn't work with nvidia_dx9. For the moment I'm not too worried, but if it keeps being that way by the time I upgrade, I guess I'll have to rely on displays that work with non nvidia modes.

I'm confident the situation with nvidia_dx9 will improve as the driver development progresses. I'll just hang on to this RTX 3080 card with that hope in mind, and also sample some of the games that are working on the nvidia_dx9 path. Speaking of which, is there a list somewhere of the games that are working with nvidia_dx9? So far I've had success with Witcher 3 and God of War, but GTA V and Days Gone aren't yet working. It would be nice to have a list so I can try out some of the known working ones and not have to waste time installing games that won't work.

EDIT: Ah, I see there is a thread for such a list: viewtopic.php?t=26316 8-)
