Dragon Quest XI is on the list of "Complete" games for this fix. I didn't know that DQ11 was specifically recognized as working until after already I'd tried it for myself with the fix and determined it was unplayable for me.

This video clearly demonstrates the oddly specific performance problems that makes Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition unplayable while using the universal Unreal Engine 4 fix, v9.12. I haven't tried this game with previous versions of the fix and maybe I should have.

The frame rate is great in cutscenes and in combat, but goes to absolute pot on the game field. This is the most interactive of the three modes, so the very low frame rate makes it extremely unpleasant both to look at and to play. It's unplayable in my opinion.

The UUE4 fix also causes some interface texts to render as gibberish characters. It seems to affect "dynamic" text fields, like numbers and the Luminary's custom name. Static texts look unaffected.

Beyond the broken text, the UUE4 fix is unable to modify the depth of the interface.

The first segment of this video was recorded one month ago, to the day. I've since played over 50 hours in 2D. I haven't had any technical or performance problems of any kind. It's a shame I missed experiencing all of that in 3D. This fix comes so close to working and bringing this game world to life, but the problems are bad enough to ruin it.

Has anyone encountered these strange issues with the fix, whether in DQ11 or any other UE4 game?

@Bazza As i read other Posts from you, youll have to understand that there is no wrapper for DX12, and as mentiond at the helixmod geo11 post, a DX12 Wrapper are an heavily effort that takes much Time and the right Guys, its so much work like 3D Migoto+Geo11 in therms of development Time. And even there will be an DX12 Wrapper, every Game itself need a Shaderhacker who invest 100+ Hours to fix that Game, with probably other Techniques as in the 3D migoto Wrapper, because DX12 as low level api needs shurely other approches, but dunno...

Have you looked at options available via Losti’s Universal Fix load screen/F2? I believe he has provided this option. Otherwise, you might try asking Losti on his Discord (and share here).

Nope sadly there isn't such an option in Losti’s Universal Fix. All you can do is lowering convergence when aiming but problem remains when you don't aim.

Only DHR achieves a low weapons convergence in Dying Light 1 but it needed proper fix for each weapon.

Weapons always visible are always a huge problem with Geo 3D FPS games to play at correct convergence without having broken weapons in front.

My workaround is to crank up convergence till weapon goes out from visible screen but then you have too much toyfication for a FPS game ;)

For that reason, for FPS games where you can't hide weapons and/or weapons are always visible, SD3D becomes a better solution as you can custom separatly game convergence vs weapons convergence...

Note that Helifax added separate weapon convergence to some of his fixes, like Doom.

I also recently tried it and the performance is as you say. I've tried Geo-11 and got everything set up correctly and the performance is super! Only problem is that the HUD is at screen depth and the geometry is simply pushed into depth while remaining 2D. Would be nice if someone else who has it could also take a look with Geo-11. I dont know if the convergence is 0 or if the geometry not stereorised at all. Depth is working but there is no convergence.

Ported games have a reputation for very poor performance with 3DV. But I think Geo-11 could save this one.

DragonQuestXI is working really good with Geo-11! Cant believe the big difference in performance. Another game that seemed unplayable now working like a charm!

I would like to know if the usual FPS convergence problem with Atomic Heart is comparable to other FPS games or if the problem is even more pronounced here. I have always been a sucker for high convergence settings and toyfication but I am willing to sacrifice convergence in FPS games as there is simply no way around that. But if Atomic Heart somehow is even worse in that regard compared to other FPS games I won't even try it.

Thanks for the advice mate! Yeah I eventually got it working. My first response was to guide Eincrou to try Geo11 but then I decided to try it myself since I was basically testing DQXI a week ago and noticed the same issue. So it was very late and I didnt have time to play around and test things. The convergence was at 1.2 and I couldnt get the hotkeys to work because I dont understand enough. But after unlocking the hotkeys I had to push the convergence all the way up to 350. It was so satisfying to see things started coming towards the bezel :shock: :shock: :o :woot

Has anyone made a guide for Dave's auto convergence yet? All the bells and whistles scares me a bit. But I want to master his auto convergence tools because to avoid using hotkeys all together is something we've needed for so long! But the only place where I've seen this bug free so far was with Tridef's wrapper. It might also probably be because there is a lack of guides on how to use those that Losti and DSS implemented properly. You always run in to hotkeys clashing with button mappings and its pretty tough to hit the sweet spot every time the camera is placed at an undesirable position where it destroys the convergence / immersion.

Possible bug. I found in System Shock 2023 that I get a memory leak with Auto Hud an Auto Convergence if I have the in-game resolution scale set to less than 100%.

In the game intro when I get captured and am on the space station if I have the resolution scale set to 85% my vram and system ram fill up till the game crashes. If I turn off Auto Hud and Conv then the memory stops filling. If I instead run the game at 100% scale then I can keep Auto Hud and Conv on and memory usage stays stable.

Scorn I got recently and the install fails on launch with a popup that says "online subsystems failed, launch from steam" not sure if there is anything I can do, but I may just get a yarrrgh copy as that seems like some sort of DRM.

I play on Steam VR, index + Virtual Desktop SBS. 4000 series gpu, latest-ish drivers. Windows10.

Thanks 3DNovice, I tried the suggestions and the popup kept coming up during install-launch; however this wasn't actually the problem, it seems.
The actual issue was the fix failing to save "-dx11" as launch parameters even though it was attempted and confirmed.
Once I entered it myself, the game launched through Steam just fine, one positive boop instead of the negative two.
I've had this happened before, I goofed up and didn't double check this time.

Scorn looks great! I'm ready for the Giger nightmare.

Also I got Evil West yesterday, looks good as well.

Awesome, I'm glad you got it sorted.

That is good news about Evil West, I'm hoping it's a spiritual successor to DarkWatch and Red Dead Revolver, two of my favorite games
on the PS2 back in the day.

There's a bug in geo-11 affecting mirrors in Returnal. So the fix is paused until that problem is fixed in geo-11 itself.

Is geo-11 still being actively by supported? Have any new releases occurred?

Installation
NOTE: Please, if you install a new version over a prev. one, make sure you remove the "Shaderfixes" / "ShaderfixesDM" / "ShaderCacheDM" folder from the game you are going to install the new version!

- get the archive from the attachment here from the post
- Extract the complete archive to the main game directory, e.g.: ...\GAMEINSTALLFOLDER\SOMETHING\Binaries\Win64

- NOTE: Any update for GEO11 later 0.6.56 needs to be placed in ...\ShaderFixes\Geo11 ==> nvapi64.dll and d3d11.dll to be applied! There will not be an frequent update of the UE4-UF2 on each geo11 update!

Issues Left
- Some clipping in special cases
- you may need to start a game 2-3 times if it crashed WITHOUT any error message or crash
- you may need to press ALT+ENTER and ALT+ENTER again to kick in 3D
- you may need to press ALT+TAB and ALT+TAB again to kick in 3D ==> Often needed for GEO11
- you may need to switch resolution in game to something lower than your native one and back to native to kick in 3D ==> Often needed for GEO11


Game Setup
- up to you but:
- NOTE: Sometimes AA OFF can cause issues like flickering/flashing light details
- NOTE2: Sometimes maxed out AA in game (TAA+ or TAA) can cause "smearing" of things like edges of textures from objects, try lower AA in this case

NOTE: OSD in geo11 is one eyed, you have to go with this, all the OSD in games are one eyed. May be Dave will fix this some times.

- shows you Separation and Convergence that is currently on set, also gives you options to change convergence, separation or choose some Convergence Presets

- Change Convergence by LCTRL + F5 or F6 - NOTE: You need to enable the advanced keys in the Nvidia Control Panel in the Stereoscopic 3D part of it!

- Change Separation by LCTRL + F3 or F4

- Cycle Convergence Presets DEFAULT = 120. Change by "." or ",", this is game depended as long as you don't use AUTO CONVERGENCE.

- Activate the Low Convergence Preset DEFAULT = OFF. Useful e.g. in cut scenes, if shortly the convergence is too high, up to you to use or not ALT + INSERT
--NOTE: Change the convergence reduction by ALT + PageUP or PageDOWN

HUD/UI Depth Settings

- HUD/UI [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = ON. Disable complete HUD/UI by ALT + LCTRL + X. Disable partial HUD/UI by and try only leave crosshair ALT + LCTRL + C -- This also draws things in the middle from the HUD/UI around the crosshair.

- HUD/UI STATIC Depth [XXX %]: DEFAULT = 10 %. Change the general static HUD-Depth by NUMPAD* or NUMPAD/

- HUD/UI AUTO Depth [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = ON. Enable or Disable by "~" (TILDE), "^" , or XB_GUIDE. The automatic HUD/UI depth that allows you to have Crosshair and other elements into automatic aligned surface depth.
--NOTE: [ON] and [OFF] is self explaining, [AUTO ON]/[AUTO OFF] means its automatically set by the
AUTO HUD/UI DEPTH HANDLING option (NEW in 9.00). If you want it permanent ON or OFF, just use the toggle key to do this to skip the automatic ON/OFF switch or in cases you need it because HUD/UI is still broken in menus and/or annoying with elements in too high depth

GENERAL SIDE NOTE: IF you want get back to the HUD/UI Depth behavior from the UE4-UF2 before 9.00, just disable this and every HUD/UI element is in STATIC Depth, like if you started a game in versions before 9.00

- AUTO HUD Depth Handling [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = ON. New mechanism introduced in 9.00 for automatic HUD/UI depth handling that tries to detect if the game is in a MENU and than automatically disable the AUTO-DEPTH! Switch with F4
--NOTE: This CAN fail in dependency of the game and than leads to AUTO-DEPTH OFF, e.g. if a large texture is pushed to the scene like blog on screen for example. It also do NOT be 100 % detect menus. The mechanism is texture size based so if large textures are present AUTO-DEPTH will be off, and the other way round. MEANS: If AUTO-DEPTH is NOT off in menus, you cant do anything here than disable it manually if annoying with "~" (TILDE), "^" , or XB_GUIDE. If IN GAME the AUTO-DEPTH switches ON and OFF for moments/situations you don't want it, DISABLE this option. This can be adjusted by me for individual games.

- AUTO Depth OFFSET [XXX %]: DEFAULT = 0 %. Add an offset to the automatic depth that can be + or - in dependency of your likes and the game. Change this with ALT + NUM"*" or NUM"/" if CROSSHAIR is too high or low in depth for you/the game.
--NOTE: AUTO-DEPTH-Crosshair [ALTERNATIVE] Mode may often needs some negative values here, but up to you.

- Depth-Cross. [NORMAL/ALTERNATIVE]: DEFAULT = NORMAL. If the CROSSHAIR or some UI elements are not in right depth, try [ALTERNATIVE]. This happens if some character based things (often like weapons, arms etc.) crossing the middle of the screen on high convergence). The ALTERNATIVE mode is not as accurate like the normal one, but helps you to get an approx. Auto Depth crosshair in games having this foreground issue. Switch mode with ALT + NUMPAD0

- AUTO Cross. ONLY Mode [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = ON. Introduces in 9.00, that will NOT push any FONT into auto depth, and also no "large" textures. This is game depended! IF Crosshair is NOT in AUTO-DEPTH, turn this of if you need. This mode reduces the broken HUD/UI in menus in a soft way and can be adjusted for individual games my me. Switch with F3

- Adjust AUTO Depth HUD/UI Area: Only available if "AUTO Cross. ONLY Mode" is OFF. ALT + DIRECTION-KEYS defines the range starting from the middle of the screen for any direction of it in that HUD/UI will be pushed in AUTOMATIC depth. If a texture is crossing the defined starting point, it shifts in a way you don't like/want. This settings has to be adjusted game specific if defaults do not match.

Depth change by LCTRL + NUMPAD* or NUMPAD/ This enables you to separate the depth from the lower part of the screen (in some area) to be independent of any HUD/UI depth action done any HUD Depth action. This enables you for some games to keep subtitles at a depth you want it. NOTE: The chosen area for this feature may not match 100 % for every game, some game needs more or less area or are, because of elements at the lower screen, not suitable for this to use. This option is disabled by default because of this and available for you to try. In any case of adjustment needed, it you think this is cool in general, just ask me.

- Allow for AUTO Conv. [YES/NO]: DEFAULT = YES. If you DON'T want the convergence switch if Auto-Convergence is ENABLED, simply turn this OFF. If YES, while AIMING in Auto-Convergence Mode, AC is off until you release the key!

AUTO Convergence Options

- AUTO Convergence [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = OFF. Auto Convergence is made for automatic adjust the convergence to the game scene. It may needs some tweaks with the later keys if not suitable. Up to you to use it or not. Its OFFby default. Toggle with LCTRL+NUMPAD+

- MAX. AUTO Conv. Mode [X]: DEFAULT = 6. The higher the mode the more AutoConvergence depth is allowed. Up to you, but Mode 6 should be ok for approx. 2/3 of the games. Change with ALT+NUMPAD4 or ALT+NUMPAD5

- AUTO Conv. FINE TUNE [XXX/OFF]: DEFAULT = OFF. The fine tune option is for games in which one mode is too high for max AC and the next is too low. Choose the mode that AC is too high for you and adjust its max depth by the finetuning option. Cycle with ALT + NUMPAD7 or ALT + NUMPAD8. The percentages shown means REDUCE current max convergence by this percentage. Means 80% is the hardest reduce, 20 % the lowest. Trying to set up suitable setting for you forces you to experiment a bit and moving around and watch different scenes to find the suitable setting for you.

- AUTO Conv. Speed: DEFAULT = FAST. If the transition/change of AutoConvergence is too slow or fast for you Switch speed with ALT+NUMPAD3.

- Instant Conv. Switch [NO/YES]: DEFAULT = NO. An option allows or disallow instant convergence switches using auto convergence. This can be annoying or usefull, its game dependend. Switch with ALT+NUMPAD6.

- AutoConvergence OFFSET [15-200%]: DEFAULT = 100% This is some option to raise or lower general convergence in AC mode, this can be used for adjust AC to your likes if you want it a bit higher or lower in general. Change with ALT+F5 / F6.

- Lens Flares [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = OFF. Lens Flares often being annoying. Up to you to turn it on, LCTRL+NUMPAD2.

- Sharpen / Reduce Blure [OFF-100%]: DEFAULT = 25%. This reduces motion blur and give sharpens the scene by the raise of grizzly textures LCTRL+NUMPAD3.

Trouble Shooting Options

- AO FIX [OFF/Mode-1/Mode-2]: DEFAULT = OFF. May its not cool for every game, can solve issue with AO/AO-Shadows. Mode-1 may help in some games, if not choose Mode-2, but go with some what some darker overall scene. Switch this with LCTRL+NUMPAD5

- Alternative Point-Light FIX [ON/OFF]: DEFAULT = OFF. Only one game I have seen needs this, so this is an option that is OK for 99 % of the games at OFF. In any case of LIGHT/SHADOW issues, try if ENABLE this option will make a change. IF NOT, keep it disabled. LCTRL+NUMPAD8

Hello, this game "Bramble" says "Demo tested". Is the game playable in 3D or should I wait until the demo becomes a full 3D game?

The full game is out for some time. It mostly works flawlessly with UE4-UF2-9.12, but there are unfortunately some major issues where the whole screen becomes garbled. This luckily only happens when being close or inside water. For these 3-4 scenes in the game, you might have to deactivate the UF2 completely and play in 2D until you passed those scenes...

This license agreement (“Agreement”) governs the use of the software (“Software”) provided to you by Christian Rautenberg ("Licensor"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not download, install or use the Software.

License Grant. Licensor grants to you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not use the Software for any commercial purpose.

Restrictions. You may not copy, distribute, re-upload, or link to the Software for any commercial purpose. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software. You may not modify, adapt, translate, rent, lease, lend, sell for profit, or create derivative works based upon the Software or any part thereof.

Ownership. The Software is licensed, not sold, to you by Licensor. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all copies thereof.

Term and Termination. This Agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by destroying the Software and all copies thereof. This Agreement will terminate immediately without notice from Licensor if you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement. Upon termination, you agree to destroy the Software and all copies thereof.

Disclaimer of Warranties. The Software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Licnensor does not warrant that the functions contained in the Software will meet your requirements or that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability. In no event will Licensor be liable for any damages, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software, even if Licensor has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

General. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and Licensor with respect to the use of the Software and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the use of the Software. This Agreement may not be modified except in writing signed by both parties.

Addition.This software is intended for private use BY YOU and can be used freely for this purpose. Any commercial use is prohibited without my consent. Furthermore the distribution of this software and modifications is prohibited mainly. Any modifications for your own use is allowed, the publication of any modifications based on the original code is only allowed with my permission. I am NOT responsible for it's use that results in a ban, nor responsible for modified versions and that by using, should any dispute arise, the user agrees to be bound by arbitration that must occur within Germany. As well as, the user is responsible for all fees/out of pocket expenses.

Governing Law. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the Germany.

Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous negotiations, understandings, and agreements, whether written or oral, between the parties with respect to the subject matter of this Agreement.

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read this Agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.
