So we still need someone to test this projector in 3d vision to see if it works?

I don't think anyone has tried yet, but I expect them to work as there are quite a few models which natively support 1080p@120Hz Frame Sequential.
Worst case, you might have to use the DLP Link glasses and you might need to do a hack/workaround to avoid 3d tv play kicking in. You might be able to force that with 3dfm, I'm not sure.

Played with the x1300i a little bit so far it is pretty good, but compared to the HD27HDR, I am not sure it is much better for picture quality, but it does seem brighter, but I could also need a new bulb in the HD27HDR. I got the x1300i working in my pc just fine , using the 3dtv play option, I got the double image but 3d vision glasses would not show 3d. I then tried a game , I got a black screen so I restarted my pc and still black screen, I have tried everything I know to do. Switching HDMI ports on both projector and my pc, tried connecting to other displays then going back to the projector, nothing works. So I spent a a little time testing out 2D games and 3d movies on my Xbox one. I may return it, I think the HD27HDR has more accurate colors that pop better.

Are you saying I can set Generic CRT as my display in 3d fix manager? That option does not show up in Nvidia control panel, but I also do not see where I can change it in the fix manager program.

Was going straight to the pc from projector, but I just tried with my DVR hooked up, and it works! Now I am trying to get generic CRT to work, I selected it in 3d fix manager but it still does not show up in Nvidia control panel.

Seems like the projector does not like 120 hz straight to my pc but 120hz will acivate through the DVR, but it does have a very slim aspect ratio so I have to enable 60 then back to 120 for it to work. And I assume there is no way to get Generic CRT to work through the receiver?

The 3Dfix manager's crt mode is an "on the flight stuff", it will not change anything on nvidia control center: it will activate it when clicking "play in 3D" into the profile of a game.

On my onkyo recever, frame packed 3D was working only if my 3D source was plugged into BD/DVD input. I did not try with generic crt on it, I prefer a direct link in order to avoid any additional input lag and other issues.

Whatever, it's useless if you can't totaly solve your 120Hz 2D issue first.

Well, I have taken the DVR out of the equation. Just trying to go straight to my PC from projector. Nothing I have tried works so far, except I can connect my monitor to my pc while the projector is also connected for Dual Display, and the projector does show an image that way. I tried changing the refresh rate from 60 to 120hz and tried booting it up in single display mode, still not getting past the bios loading screen. I may have to return the projector, which is too bad because I really like this thing.

Also I take back what I said earlier about the HD27HDR looking better, it is not the case after changing a few settings and setting the image to 'cool'.

Taking the DVR out of the equation is a good idea, although if it's a Denon it can probably pass 120hz. My x4300h does and even older models have been verified to do so.

Were you running the old projector at 1920x1080x120hz?

Are you using the same HDMI cable as you were with the old projector and what length is it?

Is it possible it's something to do with Windows, drivers and any edid hack or mods you did when trying to get the old projector working?

Is it possible to try a fresh install of windows 10? It's really not a major undertaking these days and as long as you have the disk space it's really easy to do and won't cost anything other than time. You just need some unallocated space on your main drive, then you can multiboot.

So, you can have 120Hz 2D on the projector if booting the pc with a monitor + projector?
But then if you reboot with the projector only, you have a black screen?

If yes, it means that your projector is ok, the issue comes from your PC.

So maybe you should reboot windows in safe mode, then use ddu to remove nvidia driver and any edid hack.
Then, use 3D vision driver changer viewtopic.php?f=105&t=25361 to re-install nvidia driver and 3Dvision.
Then use Microsoft's windows utility show/hide update or sledgehammer viewtopic.php?p=178366#p178366 in order to prevent windows to install newer unwanted nvidia driver.
That way you're 100% sure you did it right all the way.

Copying my response from AVS forum

I am using an Asus Strix 1080 Ti , and to answer other questions, yes I have it working on the Xbox One S and my PS3 and Nintendo Switch without any Issues. The HDMI cable I use is this one, I have both 15 foot and 6 foot version https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SI ... UTF8&psc=1

I did contact Benq regarding the matter and this was their response

"The long-term solution is that BenQ will come out a new firmware (with new EDID) for you. The schedule is not confirmed yet. When firmware is ready, I will update to you immediately.
For your reference, when using for dual screen, PC side will make intersection of supported resolution of monitor and projector then output. It is probably the intersection is CTA 1080p 120Hz, so it can project without problem."

Success! I used a DVI to HDMI adapter and it just worked. 3d vision started up just fine after using 3dFM to set generic CRT with projector profile. Only tested one game so far. I will be spending more time with it this weekend.

I also have an issue with some games not switching to 3d , I have CRT set to the profile in 3dFM, I tried alt tabbing and turning it off and on. I guess I will have to change the projectors name in CRU, but wouldnt that change the timings and create problems with the 3d vision glasses?

Assetto corsa and Raceroom arent working. Raceroom does not have a profile, so setting CRT in 3dFM does'nt work. Assetto Corsa seems like it should work, but the stereo 3d for this particular game does not kick in until you load the track and start playing. On 452.06 , W10 1904,I use 3dFM to install the fix, and havent made any changes to the fix, I even reinstalled the fix. I cannot use 3d photo viewer or anything that does not use 3dFM to set my display as CRT, I think I need to change my display name in CRU but I am not sure which to use on this Benq projector

So you are saying that even though NVCP says I am at 120hz 1080p, I am really at a lower refresh rate? I have gotten most games to work so far in 3d and it appears to be running 60fps

I was getting RGB full so I used that, btw I decided to return the x1300i , although the brightness was nice to have, I just could not jive with the poor black levels. I did back to back testing with the Optoma and I just preferred the image on it a bit more. I may just wait until hdmi 2.1 projectors come out to try upgrading again.
