Can not update to 425.31

Hi smart guys,
I can not update to 425.31

It's a working offline win10pro + gtx560 system.
-win 10pro64 1607 build 14383.105 - Q6600 2.4gz quad cpu 6gb - p5k
-560 1gb , nvidia driver: 391.35

Got the 425.31-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe from nvidia.

Installer message:
NVIDIA-installer can not continue.
This NVIDIA grafical driver is not compatible with this windows version.
This grafical driver could not find compatible hardware.

What am i overlooking?


p.s.
Was upgraded with a GTX570 (1.25 GB) to play GTA5 stereoscopic in 1680x1050
but the 570 died, so back to the original 560.

The 560 1GB is only capable of running it steroscopic in 800x600, but hey it is running!

I also have a unknow MSI card, probably older, this works on VGA mode.
But also here the Installer gets nowhere.

I found this forum when i was looking for a new nvidia card and found out they no longer support stereo-gaming.
Now thanks to the '3D-vision driver changer / Bringback3DV' i know the 1650s &2000 series also can be made working.
Forums like this are great places when looking for problems others already have solved.

I also make stereoscopic pictures and have a special lens for this.

You are overlooking the most obvious thing.

1.) Go to https://www.nvidia.de/Download/index.aspx?lang=en
2.) Select Geforce 500 series from the list
3.) Click "Search"
4.) You'll see that driver support ended after 391.35 for your graphics card.

So hard to find out? 425.31 won't work. Don't know how you could even download 425.31 from nvidia.com if following steps 1 - 4.

You won't need any of the tools like BringBack3DV or driver-changer. Those are only for drivers past 425.31, and it sounds like you won't be able to install that for your card.

(Same error message as the DCH driver, but as long as you downloaded the standard 425.31, it's probably right as being incompatible.)

Thanks for the help, support and kind words.


Now i know the unknown card is a GTX460.
The already installed driver 391.35 (for the 560) did not recognize it.

But by installing the same driver(391.35) that was installed, it found the unknown card and it is working.

I can not recall to have to to install a driver when i put the 570 in it.
That just seem to work right away.


Thanks to this forum i know which better card can be made working.
And thats where i am going to look for!
