eDimensional wired glasses help

Post by leo1954au »

I purchased a pair of eDimensional wired 3D Glasses only to find out contrary the claims on their web site about the glasses working on a LCD monitor using their own software is a fabrication, Using their software is a joke and no game would start on XP or Vista.

I have a Nvidia 8800GT and Asus VW222U monitor so I tried the nvidia 3D stereo drivers and still no luck, the games have the red and blue outline around then when I start a game and still red & Blue outline with the glasses on and no amount of adjustment dose any good, would I be better off going with a 22inch CRT monitor becaus I can pickup a COMPAQ P1220 cheep or just forget it altogether and just wait until I have the money for a Zalmon or iZ3D monitor

hi! as far as I know ppl have had success with nvidia 8800GTS plus the old nvidia drivers so you might be out of luck there. As for the 22' CRT- assuming you can find a used one for low cost like maybe 50-60$ that can support 100-120hz you could try that + the edimensional drivers. iz3d also has some proprietary drivers for shutterglasses but atm for CRT games have to run at more than 60fps or they loose sync. So it's a dilema I admit.

I know the COMPAQ P1220 was a Professional monitor that sold for around $900 in 2001 and in the specs I've been abel to find it has

PRESET Polarity
TIMING Fh(kHz) Fv (Hz) H V
640 x 480 N.I. 31.47 60.0 – –
1024 x 768 N.I. 60.02 75.0 + +
1024 x 768 N.I. 68.68 85.0 + +
1280 x 1024 N.I. 79.98 75.0 + +
1280 x 1024 N.I. 91.15 85.0 + +
1600 x 1200 N.I. 93.75 75.0 + +
1600 x 1200 N.I. 106.25 85.0 + +
1800 x 1350 N.I. 120.4 85.0 – –
1920 x 1440 N.I. 112.5 75.0 – +

would this do.

eDimensional glasses and CRT compatibility

Post by budda »

Hi,

Here's a simple rule for CRT compatibility with edimensional glasses

If you have a flat-screen CRT monitor (preferably with VGA 15 pin D-Sub connector at the back) then you really can't go wrong.

Go for a top-line monitor with a 140kHz-130kHz horizontal scan rate.

These monitors either have Sony Trinitron or NEC-Mitsubishi Diamontron aperture grille tubes, or if Hitachi an ErgoFlat Shadowmask tube.

If the make of monitor is different then it was badge engineered.

did a search on the net for refresh rates of the COMPAQ P1220 by users of this monitor and they say it will go as high as 120hz also it has a Diamondtron tube, Diamondtron is simply a rebranded version of Trinitron so I mite give one a go just for the 3D galsses.
