Patching NVidia's 3D Vision Drivers Back Into The Unsupported Geforce Game Ready Driver



IT'S NOT RECOMMENDED TO PATCH YOUR DRIVER IF YOU HAVE THE NEW 1903 BUILD OF WINDOWS 10, as there are multiple conflicts with 1903 and the patched driver...

...if you've updated to the Windows 10, 1903 build it is highly recommended that you stick with Nvidia Game Ready Driver 425.31

425.31 can be downloaded here: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverR ... 5872/en-us



Also: Please only download Nvidia "Standard" drivers, not their DCH drivers (the DCH drivers cause issues and conflicts).

During the driver installations, please choose the "Custom (Advanced)" installation option, and check the "Perform a clean installation" checkbox.

Also, be aware there's a chance that your antivirus might block rcedit.exe (https://github.com/electron/rcedit/releases)




Script-driven Driver Installation & Patch

1. Download https://losti.s3.amazonaws.com/3D_Drive ... _LOSTI.zip

2. Extract it to a folder (DO NOT USE SPACES OR SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN THE FOLDER NAME (OR IN THE NAMES OF ANY OF THE FOLDERS IN THE DIRECTORY STRUCTURE), AS DOING SO WILL PREVENT THE SCRIPT FROM WORKING.)

3. Start 3D_driver_Changer.cmd and follow the instructions (Make sure you're the system Administrator for the P.C. but DO NOT "Run as Administrator" via right click!!!)





3D_driver_Changer.cmd will ask you to do the following:

1. Download Nvidia Game Ready Driver 425.31 (released April 11, 2019).

2. Download DDU (Wagnardsoft's Display Driver Uninstaller).

3. Disconnect from the internet while using DDU and while installing Nvidia Game Ready Driver 425.31 (Windows 10 will automatically download drivers from the internet as soon as it detects that none are present; so, if the P.C. remains connected to the internet during this process, you'll likely encounter driver conflicts. Follow the 3D_driver_Changer.cmd instructions closely to know when to disconnect from, and reconnect to the internet).

4. Clean up the system with DDU (this must be done in Safe Mode). When you run DDU click on "---Select Device Type---", choose "GPU", then click "Clean and Restart".

Note: DDU requires you to start the system in Safe Mode. To access Safe Mode, hold the Shift button while clicking on Restart...this will bring up an options screen...

...choose: Troubleshoot --> Advanced Options --> Startup Settings, and click Restart; then, when the P.C. restarts, select "Enable Safe Mode".

5. 3D_driver_Changer.cmd will ask you to copy the latest Nvidia Game Ready driver for your graphics card into the "3D_Driver_Tool_V1.xx_by_LOSTI" folder, in preparation for the patch.

...once this is all done, 3D_driver_Changer.cmd will ask you to press "Y" to continue...please do so and continue to follow the instructions it gives.



It's also recommended (if you're intending to use Nvidia 3D Vision for the foreseeable future) to acquire a second SSD on which to install the Windows 10 1809 build (or maybe even Windows 7), for a "dual-boot"/"multi-boot" system. I made a tweak to the download file referenced above for Driver_Tool_1.10, by swapping out the file for a .7z file, but renaming it to .zip so the links don't need to be changed. Mostly I expect this work, but please let me know if this causes errors for anyone, or you can't unzip the archive.

The reason to do this is so the file is 50% of the size of the original, 21M instead of 44M. This is the second most expensive file on the HelixMod AWS server, so if we can save on bandwidth it will cost less to host. However, it's not a lot of money, so if it causes problems, I'll revert it.

Thanks Losti, I think we are OK for the time being.

Current costs are not high enough to worry about I think, about $100/year. This is being paid for from HelixVision now, as eqzitara handed off the AWS to me.

More of question of not wasting bandwidth or money, when there is a compression technique that is 2x better than the old ones. Just better to be efficient, faster downloads for the users.

I am on windows 10 1809 with RTX 2080ti. I got Asus PG278QR + LG 65C6V

When i install drivers newer than 425.31 3d vision doesn't work on most 3D games (in fact all 3D migoto games in direct X11... I can launch subnautica, activate different 3D like SDS but for 3D vision it doesn't work good, i got double pictures...) and some others like The witcher 3 when i activate 3D vision turn my screen black !

Same issue when i have installed yesterday drivers 441.12 + your fix in your last message for having 3d vision menu in nvidia settings. But i got same problems.

Any ideas? :'(

I'm on 1903 too, but You can play games, just use method from there - https://www.mtbs3d.com/phpbb/viewtopic. ... 05&t=23352 & then with 3DFM install 3D driver on top of the previously installed driver & You will be able to play in 3D.

So i am going to make a dual boot i am bored with windows 1903.
The question is, do I install windows 7 and it would be ez to make and some old games works better on win 7 in 3D Vision or 2D or windows 1809 ?

I've tried downloading the zip files at the top of this post a few times:

Windows cannot open the folder
The compressed zipped folder my path/3D_Driver_Tool_V1.10_by_LOSTI.zip is invalid

Edit: only with windows unzip (W10) - 7zip opens the file

Although I don't think I need it, I'm trying to go back to 425.31 drivers now

I think it's supposed to be a 7z. I had the same problem with 7-zip but it was a warning instead.

Windows did not reinstall nvidia drivers. I am on 441.12 and I made the the losti 3Dvision patch before the update.
Driver version is standard.

Driver Version tags dont match the current driver version even if this correct in the way it was before, so they may have removed this check. 442.50 is not having 3D vision install option with this tool (also not with 3DFM because it using the same way to install)

You need to stay with 442.19 currently. If they dont release any driver for quaddro Win 7 (that has 3Dvision until tha lates one 441.66) thats the latest driver that is able to "inject" 3D-Vision installation.

SUPER CARD USERS users:
- install 3D-Driver and 3D-Vision by the use of this tool, and skipp the part of the 425.31 installation described there (because you cant install it with a super card)
- install and start 3D-Fix manager
- enable 3D with the slider in the upper right corner
- this will ask you to install the 3D-Vision controller driver, just install it and restart, than you have 3D-Vision with the latest driver @ your SUPER card without the 425.31 step thats not possible for you!

A huge thank you to you, on behalf of those of us who still doggedly remain Win7, Win8, and Win8.1 users respectively, for your continuously effective workaround to enable 3D Vision capability. It would be really great if you could create your own separate thread highlighting the specific procedure for applying this workaround for the aforementioned operating systems, if only as a refresher for those of us who may not know how to do that.

I am working at a tool to clean install 425.31 or the latest working one 452.06, including all steps like DDU, driver hack on demand if needed and so on. For NOW we cant do anything else.
