hey im new to the whole VR movement sence the rift cam out and wanted to see that every body thought about this. So Ive been making my own little cell phone VR HMD with an old pair of sky goggles and my galaxy note like a lot of the kick starter type things. Ive stated seeing how simple this setup is to do and am wondering why Sony doesn't just do this with the vita to be used with the ps4. it already streams ps4 games really well, it has an OLED screen, and all the gyros and other stuff it needs. at most all it would need is a head set viewer to hook into and a couple of updates. they've come out with the hmz-t3q but it doesn't perform as well as the rift and is outrageously expensive or at leased the version before this one was. im a console guy at heart but am seriously considering a move to PC because of the flexibility. Because the Vita has a very low resolution (960×544), too small a screen (5") and it's far from certain that the panel is low-persistence even if it's OLED.

They would need something more like this (partially owned by Sony) :

But it probably won't be available this year :

At which frequency/latency ? Mobile phones also have those sensors but they are nowhere near what is required for low latency VR.
