great to see OLED tech advancing. for 'real life display' applications this tech will be the ultimate future as you can build them very big but also very light. this would be a major concern if you want have one day a 100 inch 8k TV in your living room.

God, i want to live in this cloudy, colorful future in which i am surrounded by displays outdoors in a city right now!!!

Actually I found an article on a french site that mentioned Iribe and Carmack talking about OLED for the next Oculus Rift and posted about it at my site http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... alla-oled/ Apparently Iribe said that OLED would be ideal for the Rift,while Carmack mentioned how to adapt text for PenTile screens (samsung OLED screens), so it really seems plausible that OR would use OLED on the consumer model.
