HD oculus out with developers?

Hi there I have been following the Oculus Rift support in the upcoming Star Citizen space game and my wife noticed one of the developers using a HD rift in the office.

Its at 15:54, I appreciate theres a few HD version been seen at gaming conventions but are they being leaked out to select game developers before an official release of an improved dev kit 2 version?

i think Palmer Luckey said that already in an interview, that they handed out Oculus HDs to some cooperating game developer companies.....

Nice I hope he gave one out to Elite Dangerous too as I think that's another one Palmer backed for 10k or something! Hes backed a few things though hasn't he, I think he even backed CastAR which is interesting given they might be competition down the road, shows how committed he is to making VR a reality today

elite dangerous added some very nice music to the capital ship video.....
my guess about possible handouts to developers is the following:

Valve (obvious...since the latest accomplishements derived from them)
ID software
well Star Citizen
Epic Games
Lukewarm Media (official Oculus partner, website)
and i hope Crytek too since Palmer Luckey told about official Cryengine support one month ago.
it would be badass to smash slimy aliens in the nanosuit.

Just so you know, Elon Musk of Space X/Tesla Motors also already has a HD Oculus Rift.

Telltale Games says they have received HD devkits on the rift tracker.

Yes, and this is not a "leak", and it is just a prototype not a devkitv2. Reason being that it does not have updated lenses.

I don´t think the reason for less people here is the not yet released dev kit 2.
I think the reason is because most of them switched over to the official Oculus Rift forum.
