My vacation pics from the Açores

Post by Freke1 »

I had a great vacation at the Açores Island São Miguel. Very relaxing and beautiful place.
I would like to go there again.
There's whales, dolphines, vulcanos that last erupted a couple of 100 of years ago, hot springs, lots of flowers, nice people, good food and music in the evening.

I also shot some 3D video:

We saw some whales but no dolphines. It's also possible to swim with dolphines. Only problem was the language, I can't understand portuguise.

Nice shots and Video.
The near scenes are realy good. A lot of popout and stuff, but I think the landscape and distant objects were better with a higher inhuman 'eye-distance' or seperation.
I saw a picture where the seperation was about 60meters somewhere. The result was, that you could see objects several (hundred?) kilometers away in S-3D.

Well the advantage of your rig is the nice sync and less effort in 'creating' the pictures :P

Thanks, I still have to press the recordbuttons at the same when taking pictures.
With video the sync is done with StereoMovie Maker so it's actually easier :D

I thought people were using a remote which is plugged to both cameras at once?

But maybe that is only for super precise timing and fast movement...
