Can anyone test Among the Sleep with Vireio?

Post by yomer »

Hi, it just occurred to me that based on the Alpha released earlier today, Among the Sleep could be using the Unreal 3 engine. Can anyone add the profile to the Vireio drivers to test if it works? I would do that myself but I'm at work and won't be home until later tonight. Besides, I don't have the Rift yet.

It runs on unity apparently.

I tried it with the latest Vireio beta and it kind of works, as in 3D and tracking, but the graphics are completely screwed up, it's unplayable.

The alpha folders contain the OculusPlugin.dll and TrackIRUnity.dll but I didn't see a way to enable native support.

I'll try to pull some strings to get a chosen few a version of the Oculus Rift alpha.

Its pretty great! Not promising anything, but I will try. PM me if interested and obviously only if you have a rift.

Oh, I didn't notice that before. I guess we'll have to wait for the next alpha/beta then. I haven't read anything from the the development thread on making Unity games compatible with Vireio.

I could've sworn that it was UDK3, since the menu looks a bit similar to Dear Esther's.

No point in spending time in vireio. It will have Rift support for sure, because the funding campaign will continue after kickstarter ends and theres no way in hell they wont reach 225K.

I personally guarantee that you will see native, good rift support.

I guess I got a bit carried away.

I'm really hoping they do get to the 225K stretch goal. The alpha release might be just what they needed to accomplish that.

The only thing missing is for the Rift's production to ramp up so that all orders can be fullfilled earlier than expected.

Dear Esther is a Source engine game, not an Unreal engine game.

Oh well, it reminded me of a Vireio enabled game. My bad.
