The latest version of FRAPS gets rid of the 4 gig barrier. Should be VERY handy when recording in 3D. I could hit that 4 gig barrier in a single minute at full resolution. The folks using surround systems must have had an awful time!

Yeah, the 4GB thing was pretty annoying. Good to see this fixed.

I know this sounds ridiculous but what is FRAPS? And why do I need it?

Its mostly known as a benchmarking tool, it will show you what FPS (frames per second) you are getting in your game. It can also take screenshots and video (even 3D video) so its very useful for making videos of games and posting them on YouTube or whatever.
