i need some navigation help please

Post by cravinmild »

Hey all, long time no post. Hope you are all doing well.

ANywHo, I see Neil was mentioning that we are able to upload our own 3d images. I cant seem to find out how this is done, the info is not easy to find, missing or im just stupid, either way could someone post a link to get me started.

Ive been doing seporate L/R images with a single lens DSLR and using software to combine them for a few years now. I recently have purchased a Fuji W3 ($100 new-London Drugs WOOT) and have been expanding on my 3d pic taking skills (not saying im good or anything) and would like to share. Also, id like to see what other users have uploaded. I have a few nice ones of my rig (big red) that arnt too painful to view.

thanks all,

I think that is done through the Gallery: http://www.mtbs3d.com/gallery/

Honestly never quite figured out how it worked myself, but I do know you need to be using JPS or PNS files (not MPO).

Silly me...I really should write a sticky.

1. Make sure you are logged in with your MTBS forum account.
2. Visit our gallery at http://www.mtbs3d.com/gallery
3. The directory is well labelled, but here is a direct URL (I know, there are still a lot of directories):

http://www.mtbs3d.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=40

4. At the top of the page, click the Upload File button.
5. Select your images. Make sure they are in side by side format: JPG, PNG in side by side mode. Other 3D formats (e.g. above/below, interlaced) won't work.
6. Once your images are uploaded, there is a BBCode option in the gallery with an STIMG option. Copy this STIMG code to your forum posts.
7. Once the images are online, the software will extrapolate all the different 3D formats and displays available.

I will get a better sticky put together.

Neil

I work with MPO regularly. Google and download Stereo Photo Maker.

1. Choose Multiconversion (NOT "Multiconversion From List)
2. Select your MPO files
3. Make ouput "side by side"
4. If you are converting 3D pics taken from a camera, I recommend selecting "auto alignment".
5. Set resize to 1920 X 1080
6. Select "Swap Left/Righ" (to have a cross-eyed result)
7. Choose your output folder.
8. Choose "Convert Selected Files"

Then watch this free software do all the hard work!

In addition to being the correct format, this will also reduce the images to reasonable file sizes for gallery upload. Let me know if you have further problems.

Neil

It still needs work. Here is an instruction set on how to use the gallery and create your own albums!
