Yes. It used to be called "Genius Town", but we renamed it because we lost a bet with "Gamersville".

Some-one just parks at the end of the street instead of in a parking space.

Is parking place just for one car, or is it a big area, where maybe 10 cars can park?

Well are there Shops somewhere else, than on the main-street

every parking place is for one car, the shops are all on the samestreet.

nope, they all go into the shops.. i dont remove points for this answer because i think this point was not clear. they all go phisically into the shops.

Where I live shops are closed on sundays... But that can't be the solution, because it stands there differently.
a)Maybe someone is at church - instead of shopping?
b) Who says they all go shopping at exactly the same time? The do it generally some time (during the day?), but not all at the same moment

c) the friends go shopping at home (maybe because the are still there. Nowhere is said, the go to idiotown

all wrong.. i just checked the riddle again.. just to be shure that i did not make again something wrong, but i confirm, the riddle is correct and the answer is there.. read word by word clearly of the WHOLE text, and take the things for what i wrote them! i cant belive you dont see the solution! its so easy...

nope.. seems to be to difficult.. last hint, at the end of the day i give the answer if nobody finds it. the last hint is:

at the end there are around 50% free parking places even if everybody is shopping..
