Re: Planar/Mirror Compatible LCD
I think that's a good idea, people keep asking about different monitors frequently.
I've only tested one:
BenQ FP93GX 19" 5:4 - Compatible.

Re: Planar/Mirror Compatible LCD
Some folks online say you need older LCD monitors because they have 45 degree polarization, I got around this by modifying the glasses:
I tried a 19" Norcent LM-965WA and a 17" Westinghouse LCM-17w7 I had sitting around.
The Westinghouse is polarized at 45 degrees but the Norcent is at some odd angle, I'm not sure what it is.
Built a quick partial box out of some wood and got a piece of clear arcylic for the mirror part ($6), it works fairly well but of course the alignment is not perfect.
I set the 19" at the same res. as the 17" and also centered the image instead of having it stretch to the full screen size (This only seems to work for movies not games).
I got some paper polarized 3D glasses, cut the lenses out and rotated them so one side blocked the reflection of the 19" monitor and the other blocked the image of the 17" monitor.
It works...but I will be replacing the Westinghouse with another 19" and getting a proper mirror so I can use fullscreen 3D without distortion.

I came here to chew bubblegum and to see 3D...and I'm all out of bubblegum!
