Cannot get Nvidia examples to run

I started tinkering with 3d vision and have the following setup:

Hardware
* Dell XPS 8700
* Graphics: Nvidia GTX 670
* Monitor: Asus VG248QE, using displayport
* 3d vision emitter
* 3d vision glasses

Software:
* Windows 10 Home, Version 22H2, OS Build 19045.2364
* Nvidia driver 3d vision 425.31

I was successful in getting through the 3d wizard and see the rotating 3d vision logo and the 3d game screenshots.

Next, I tried some of the nvidia examples like medusa and stone giant, but these fail to come up in 3d stereoscopic.
This is probably a basic question ... any suggestions/pointers appreciated.

Update: I installed the "3d fix manager" and was able to run doom in 3d stereoscopic. The documentation said something about "Show global driver hack toggle" but I don't seem to have that option. I am thinking if I enable
the driver modifcation globally, then I can get the nvidia examples to run correctly?
