EDIT: The MTBS DOWNLOADS section has been fixed. There were a lot of dead links that were cleaned up. The latest version of the sView S-3D photo viewing software was corrected too. The choice of compression was not downloading properly for some reason. Sorry for the inconvenience. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) is developing a lot of interest and enthusiasm from gamers, and MTBS’ continued growth along with the releases by iZ3D, Zalman, Samsung, Mitsubishi, etc. is further proof of that. However, it’s not enough to release a product to be successful. It has to meet the hopes and needs of its customers. The hopes of the 2D gamers so their S-3D experience is what they expect, and the needs of existing S-3D gamers so they know the industry is actually moving forward, and not just renaming an old bag of tricks.

While the goals of this project are non-proprietary, we are pleased to be joined by Vadim Asadov, the Chief Technology Officer of iZ3D LLC[/b]. You know him as BlackQ, and outside of the S-3D industry, he doubles as the Founder of the Neurok Institute of Irrational Ideas (N-III) for gravity and quantum mechanics. He is a skilled physicist, so don’t get him started on why a cup of tea always goes cold!

Together, we decided to launch a special forum for MTBS members to ask and answer the following questions:

1. Why do people like 3D more than 2D? All people, or some people? Why? What makes them different?
2. In your opinion, what are the best ways to educate people on how to generate S-3D content correctly? What motivates their interest to want to be educated?
3. How can convergence and separation in 3D games be automatically/manually managed so results are always comfortable, and don’t cause headaches or sickness.

As the iZ3D hardware and software product line is in continual development, Vadim has answers to all these questions, but your input and ideas are paramount. What we learn here can be translated to other solutions in the market so the entire industry can be successful, and the growing S-3D community can get the visual experience they deserve.

These are just a starter questions. Vadim has given assurances that he will answer all questions possible, and don’t be afraid to add a little debate to the mix!

Please start posting your questions HERE[/b], and Vadim will begin posting his reponses on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 at 9:00AM EST.
