Paranormal [The Game]

Post by scorpionking674 »

Google the game to know about it.

So, I tried to get it working on OCULUS DK2 and VOILA, with the help of Vireio Perception (BIG THANKS TO VIREIO DEVS), I was able to play it in VR. After playing it in Oculus, I scared the crap out of myself.

NOTE: Start game once without vireio, set your screen resolution in full screen.

I OWN DK2, SO I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL BE THE SAME PROCEDURE FOR DK1.

Headtracking works right away with POSITIONAL TRACKING.

Using latest 2.1.0 RC1

- Rift mode set to EXTENDED
- Extend display screen on RIFT and set it as your PRIMARY SCREEN.
- You will need to copy Vireio DLL files into the game's EXE folder.
- Once you start the game, there will be graphic glitch thingy witch disoriented colors, just press ESC, go in setting, change graphic settings and toggle Shadows and camera effect.

THATS IT. MAKE SURE TO PUT HEADPHONES ON TO EXPERIENCE THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PARANORMAL HAPPENINGS, ENJOY GETTING SCARED.

Before you try it, my display was extended, RIFT being my primary display. Run VIREIO always as administrator. (set as primary monitor on vireio window).

* I dont use NVIDIA control panel for managing my displays.

* I always run games through my desktop shortcuts.

(I've mentioned almost every settings i have setup perfectly, you may try doing it my way if it doesnt work for you.)

My system:

ASUS G55VW, I7 3610QM, NVIDIA GTX 660M 2GB.

USEFUL TIP: If you are unable to see map or hud, just press "L-CTRL + Middle Mouse Button (PRESS THE SCROLL WHEEL)", this will enable disconnected screen view and you will be freely able to move around the screen, you can also lean forward and backwards to zoom in and out of the screen. After Enabling Disconneted Screen if the screen gets too small for you, you can Hold L-CTRL and use the mouse scroll to adjust the screen size. THUMBS UP IF YOU LIKED THIS TIP. In some games, adjusting screen size while holding CTRL key and scrolling wont work, Press L-SHIFT + Q, go in OVERALL settings and adjust DISTORTION SCALE.

Note: I was having problem with clicking the game buttons like "Start", "Options" etc, try to keep the Mouse cursor in middle and see if it highlights the options. It is hard at first, but you will find that sweet spot eventually. :)

PLEASE POST A REPLY IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU :woot

Excellent stuff, nice to see people trying it with other games and getting success.

I am curious though, did you acutally get stereo separation?, or were you playing it in 2D?

The reason being if you haven't run the shader analyser and created a shader rules file, it shouldn't be able to give you proper 3D separation in each eye. If you were only playing in 2D and haven't done that bit yet, then I would recommend trying it, it is quite straightforward and the Vireio instruction document has details on how to get a simple shader rules file created.
