Shutter glasses with rear projection tv?

I am soon to be the benefactor to a Sony kp-51ps2aus rear projection tv. I believe it is a crt 100hz with s-video inputs and i was wondering if that has the potential to work with shutter glasses (which will soon arrive). I was thinking that there may be no sync signal because it wouldnt be plugged in line with the s-video, is there a way around this? All i can think of is to have the glasses plugged into the other video card output to another crt monitor and run them in clone mode?
