Pretty amazing demo from Sixense

This is astounding, even more so in many ways than the Rift itself. (Assuming it's not just a mockup)
The problem of course, will be support in VR applications. That's a lot harder than adding rift support.

Nice!
Let's hope that they will also make simple trackers without any controls to go with you feet and head

"Sixense is teaming with Virtuix for the ultimate virtual reality experience at PAX Prime in Seattle (August 30-September 2). We’ll be showcasing an early prototype of the STEM System (including demos) in the Virtuix booth (#6210, Zone 2, Level 6)."
Woohoo! A fantastic partnership!

nice one.... great to see Sixense moving forward with positional tracking. This opens a whole new realm for gaming in general.
Next up I hope to see Leap Motion style finger mo- cap integration embedded into a hand controller

That is all happening quicker than i thought.
One year ago all these things were just uncertain. But now even before the Rift has released motion capture and ODTs are on the way. There is certainly sth magic about VR what pushes people.

Looks like they are aiming for $250,000 on kickstarter, should be more than possible for them : )

Yeah, if they continue at their current pace ($68k after 12 minutes) they'll hit their goal in a little over an hour.virror wrote:Looks like they are aiming for $250,000 on kickstarter, should be more than possible for them : )

Re: Pretty amazing demo from Sixense
The Omni will have its own dedicated sensor system for foot tracking, which will be compatible with the STEM system trackers. I went with the 5-tracker $299 level on the sixense kickstarter, so with my STEM and Omni I should have five additional tracking points for my torso, head and arms.Attreyu wrote:So these are the integrated sensors of the final Omni ?

Re: Pretty amazing demo from Sixense
I did the same. But I might cancel and jump to the PrioVR if they get a game specific version. The light being 50 bucks more is very tempting (for 10 sensor), but not sure about drivers / game support. And I'm a bit worried that they just say its 8x faster then kinect and not mention actual update speeds and how accurate it is...
