OPTOMA EXPANDS RETAIL CONSUMER LINE WITH THE NEW 3D READY WXGA PORTABLE DLP DIGITAL PROJECTOR
MILPITAS, Calif. | December 1, 2009 | Continuing to offer consumers best-in-class performance and value in DLP® digital projectors, Optoma® Technology, Inc., the #1 selling brand of DLP projectors worldwide, has expanded its PRO-series line of portable data projectors sold through retail channels by introducing the all-new 3D Ready PRO350W. Featuring WXGA resolution that is compatible with many of today’s widescreen laptop computers, the PRO350W delivers a robust brightness of 2800 ANSI lumens and a high 3000:1 contrast ratio, allowing projection of vivid images and sharp text onto large screens in well-lit rooms. The PRO350W is now shipping and carries an end-user price of $749.00.

According to Grodem, the PRO350W’s native WXGA delivers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It is PC and MAC compatible, supports computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels (HD), and can also accept common global video inputs and video formats up to 1080p (HDTV, EDTV, SDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM).
To better meet society’s increasing concerns about energy and power usage, the PRO350W employs advanced power-conserving green technology that uses less than 1-watt of power during standby mode. The projection lamp is rated up to 3000 hours in bright mode or up to 4000 hours in standard mode.
The PRO350W offers additional user convenience with VGA pass-through. When the projector is in stand-by mode, this feature allows computer signals to display images onto a computer monitor without turning on the projector or spending money on additional VGA splitters.
The versatile PRO350W, like its sister projectors the PRO150S and PRO250X (both of which began shipping in August), can be used for either front or rear projection, can be ceiling mounted, or can be used as a portable tabletop projector. User-friendly controls allow selection of operating menus in 23 languages, and electronic controls allow fast picture sizing.
For security, the PRO350W offers password protection, a Kensington® Lock port, and a security bar to keep the projector locked in place.
The PRO350W weighs five pounds and is equipped with a remote control, a padded carrying case, interconnect cables, and other accessories.
