Hello Jed,
The Source engine does not officially support Stereoscopic 3D. However, it appears that many users have been able to get it working. As you have already mentioned, it looks like Meant to Be Seen is going to be the best resource for that:

Dear Valve,
I play Counter-Strike Source and Half Life 2. Recently I saw some neat demos of 3D stereo video hardware and I was really impressed. I am considering ordering a 3D LCD monitor, but I don't know how Half Life 2 would look with it. Is the Source engine stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) compatible? I know of one certification standard done by an organization called Meant to be Seen (MTBS).
Thanks!
Jed
