Hello all. I just got a radeon 5770 video card and have it hooked up to a 3D ready mitsubishi dlp via hdmi. My resolution is at 1760 x 1000 but i cant seem to get it to 120hz, highest i can get it to is 60. It reads it as a generic pnp monitor, if that changes anything. Any advice on what to do? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can't send it a 120Hz signal. For 3D with DLPs, send it a 60Hz signal, and use the checkerboard method for output.

Thank you. I read that ccc 10.3 is coming in march and will support a 120 signal, wonder if that will make a differance with dlps. Thanks again for your response.

The new ATI driver only enables features on actual 120Hz screens like the Samsung/Viewsonic 22". 3D DLPs are unaffected.

As cybereality said, the highest refresh you can send to your display is 60Hz, it has nothing to do with drivers. If you try sending it a 120Hz signal, all you're going to get is a "Mode not supported" on your display.

Intormative and helpful, as always. Thank you.

I'm assuming this overclocking would (or at least COULD) damage the projector? Cause it'd sure be nice to run 120 from my 85hz projector, but any risk involved is not worth it.
