I recently also purchased a 4090 and wanted to report my findings for different games I have tried so far.
I play on a LG OLED 65 E1 and usually try to use the interlaced settings for Geo11 (or TAB or SBS) and native 4K resolution.
If no special Geo11 fix exists I usually try to change the setting force_stereo=2 in the existing d3dx.ini file and copy all files from the Devil May Cry 5 fix beside the ShaderFiles folders, because I heard that that seems to include the latest Geo11 version (maybe I am wrong)
Here is the list of games I have tested so far (sorry if maybe there are some duplicates from the initial list of this post).
- Assassins Creed Unity (fix from the forum here, messed up, one eye issue, blocky artefacts around characters etc but performance seems finally ok)
- Anthem (3D does not kick in with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11, has several error messages at startup)
- Ascent (works fine with latest Universal UE4 fix 9.12)
- Atomic Heart Demo ((works fine with latest Universal UE4 fix 9.12 but full version from Game Pass crashes on startup)
- Battlefield V (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11)
- Callisto Protocol (has startup error with with UE4 9.12 but works with older version but is then broken)
- Control (works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
- Days Gone (works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
- Devil May Cry 5 (works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
- God Of War (works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
- GTA V (works fine with 3Dmigoto loader, see
viewtopic.php?t=26746&start=40)
- Hitman 2 (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11, but has some strange stutters in benchmark)
- Kena (works fine with latest Universal UE4 fix 9.12 when disabling Epic Overlay)
- Kingdome Come Deliverance (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11)
- Metro Exodus (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11)
- Mortal Kombat 11 (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11)
- Outriders (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11)
- Resident Evil 2 (works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
- Sifu (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11 when disbaling Epic Overlay)
- Star Wars Jedi Falle Order (works ok with UE4 9.12 + Shader Cache from fix + Geo11, some strange artefacts and shader compilation stutter without shader cache)
- Star Wars Battlefreont 2 (works fine with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11, must disbale EA Overlay otherwise crash)
- Watch Dogs Legion (3D does not kick in with fix from HelixBlog + Geo11. Several error messages at startup)
- Witcher 3 (Works fine with fix from HelixBlog)
I hope this helps some other people with a similar setup.
I have an Ryzen 3900X and the performance with the new 4090 is way better than with my old 2080.
I am looking forward for new fixes and maybe some day we will even have an solution for DX12 but I am glad that so many games already work with Geo11 and such good performance so that finally it is possible to play in native 4K and glorious 3D without the old 3 core bug.
And thanks to Dave and bo3d and masterotaku and all the other shader hackers (DHR, Losti, ...) for Geo11 and all the great fixes, so that 3D is still alive even in 2023.
I already donate to you via patreon since some time and I am very thankful that you keep our hobby alive.
