Hi,
The coming wave of S3D TVs are marketed as premium products.
Now, if the past experience with home theatre is anything to go by, then be prepared for price gouging on the accessories.
Just look at the super dooper audio and HDMI cables for instance. Salespeople like to hit customers up big for those items whilst the customer is still distracted about the great price they got on the display.
We already know the S3D shutterglasses will be expensive - say up to $200 each with the emitter.
Many people don't yet realise they are going to need new HDMI v1.4 cables for S3D as well. Hopefully the included cable will be longer than one foot.
These cables are necessarily better quality and better specifiied than the older HDMI version cables. And, being pitched for a premium S3D market, you can bet its not going to be cheaper to buy.
This could be one of the video display industries dirty little secrets.
Have you read the HDMI specifications. They specifically prohibit the new HDMI cable from being advertised/packaged as HDMI 1.4.
I wonder why that is so.
More of a smokescreen to get dollars out of your pocket, I say.
Thanks.

Thats assuming anyone can even afford the displays! At least VIZIO is reasonable with the pricing.
