If you don't have a 3D display, stay in 3D mode, but choose "no glasses" and "left eye only".  Otherwise you will see a doubled image.

A CES wouldn't be CES without an interview with Chris Yewdall, CEO of Dynamic Digital Depth!  Chris talks about everything from 3D on mobile, mobile to HDTV control, and yes...the Oculus Rift and the TriDef VR drivers.
